Summary
This is a Design & Estimating Engineer position working as a part of the Sales Team providing wheel design, engineering drawings/reports, and quotes to the Sales Team.
Responsibilities
This position is responsible for generating Engineering documentation as requested by the Sales Account Managers pertaining to specific customer needs. This will include, but not limited to, engineering reports, detailed drawings, form, fit, function analysis, and other engineering needs related to production. This position is also responsible for generating quotes/estimates for specific customers as requested by the Sales team. This will include quoting for retreading and complete new wheels and other parts as required. This will involve communicating and building a relationship with our suppliers of materials and components.

This position also requires understanding of engineering principles and to be able to create drawings and understand tolerances and the impact they have during production.

This role will be office related and will work typically 5 days a week, but can include weekends and modified hours as needed.

  • Good computer skills (Office, Word, Excel, Access)
  • SolidWorks
  • Well versed in Engineering Principles, in particular Mechanical items including bearings, strength of materials, stress analysis, fatigue, FEA, etc
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints/drawings
  • Basic Economic principles
  • Basic understanding of Sales and order entry process
  • Good communication and customer/vendor interaction
